 The AlabamaGermany Partnership will celebrate its 10-year
anniversary at its annual dinner and business forum April 24-25,
2008, at the Westin Huntsville.
During the Thursday evening dinner, Mercedes-Benz U.S.
International President Bill Taylor will present the Rainer Bauer
award to Governor Bob Riley for his leadership role in recruiting
German-based companies ThyssenKrupp Steel and Stainless USA, LLC to
Alabama.
Additional honorees are: ThyssenKrupp Stainless USA, Berg Sprial
Pipe Corp., Evonik-Degussa Corp., and individuals Dr. Konrad
Dannenberg, Pete Cox, and the late Edith Phillips.
The Friday morning business forum, "Creating Profitable
Relationships: Germany and Alabama," will feature breakfast and a
discussion moderated by Dr. Hajo Drees, European Development
Director, Alabama Development Office. Invited panelists are: Bob
Soulliere, President and CEO ThyssenKrupp Steel USA; William G.
Diehl, President and CEO, BBK; Ralph D. Crosby, Jr, Chairman and
CEO, EADS North America; and Joe Fadool, Vice President Operations,
Continental Huntsville.
